Yes, registering by email on Brian is compliant with data protection regulations. Email addresses that contain first and last names (e.g. vorname.nachname@email.de) are considered personal data within the definitions of the GDPR (EU) and the DSG (Switzerland) and are therefore subject to their requirements. Due to our server location in Switzerland, consistent data separation and the specific context of use on Brian, we fully comply with these requirements. However, we also offer login procedures that do not require the use of personal data at all. School organizations can, for example, use a single sign-on (SSO) system or assign anonymous login codes to learners that completely bypass email addresses. Please contact us at info@brian.study if you are interested in login procedures without email addresses.
