What are learning goals?
Learning goals help you plan how far you want to get in a course and by when. Brian automatically breaks your learning goal down into weekly goals. This way, you always know exactly how much you still need to do each week to reach your goal.
You can set a separate learning goal for each of your courses, both in the app and in your browser at student.brian.study.
Where do I set a learning goal?
There are two ways:
- In the "Weekly Learning Goals" view: Here you can see all your courses at a glance and set or edit a learning goal for each one.
- In the course under "Statistics": Click "Set Learning Goal."

How do I set a learning goal?
You set your learning goal by dragging it with your finger or mouse:
- Up or down sets how much you want to achieve.
- Right or left sets when you want to achieve it, e.g., "in 1 week," "in 2 weeks," and so on.
How challenging is my goal?
While you're setting your learning goal, Brian shows you how challenging it is. To do this, Brian looks at how efficiently and how much you've studied so far. The rating ranges from:
- "Easy"
- "Realistic"
- "Ambitious"
- "Very ambitious"
This way, you can see right away whether your goal fits your learning pace or whether you could aim a little higher.
What happens when I reach a weekly goal?
As soon as you reach a weekly goal, Brian celebrates with you right after the exercise. Keep it up!

Can I change my learning goal?
Yes. You can edit your learning goal at any time under "Statistics" by clicking "Edit Learning Goal."
Can my teacher see my learning goals?
Yes, your teacher can see your learning goals. But only you can set or change them.
