How does quiz mode work?

for students 👩🏽‍🎓

The quiz mode is located in the learning world. Here you can choose which quizzes you want to work on.

How long is a training session?

As soon as you start a study quiz session, a set of 20 questions is put together for you, based on your previous learning behavior. All questions are divided into 5 success levels. Questions are withheld from you for different lengths of time depending on their success level. In this manner, you will always be presented with the questions that are most relevant to you.

Spaced Repetition

Brian uses spaced repetition to help you learn optimally. Adaptive Spaced Repetition means that you are asked the right question at the right time. Brian's algorithm understands where you are in your learning journey and makes sure to guide you through the material as effectively as possible.

There are five different levels of success, depending on how many times you have answered the question correctly. Here you can see the logic behind it:

Your individual progress is also calculated based on your success level. This works as follows:

  • New question → 0% progress
  • Wrong answer → 25% progress
  • Once correct → 50% progress
  • Correct twice! → 75% progress
  • Hat-trick! 3 correct answers → 100% progress

Depending on your success level, Brian calculates a blocking period during which the question will not be shown to you.

This ensures that you see questions where you made mistakes sooner than those that you have already answered correctly.

Geek Mode

Of course, you can continue learning even if you have already reached the goal set by Brian's algorithm. The "Geek Mode" lets you push on. You can recognize the Geek Mode by this symbol:
