What does it mean to earn points in Brian?
Points in Brian measure how much you study on Brian and how often you interact with other students. They reward your hard work and motivate you to spend more time studying.
Where can I see my points?
Your current score is always displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen.
You can view the points leaderboard by clicking on the "point-pyramid" symbol and then selecting "Leaderboard". There you will see how you compare to other students.
What do points have to do with my progress?
Your progress score measures your actual learning performance. It shows the degree to which you have acquired the knowledge/skills anchored in the individual exercises.
When you complete an exercise for the first time, you automatically accumulate points and progress. However, as you re-attempt exercises, especially AI dialogues, it's possible to collect points without making any real progress. Simply repeating the exercise mechanically does not lead to progress: you will need to demonstrate that your knowledge has deepened.
What exactly do I get points for, and how many?
1 point for 1 correct quiz answer
You get one point for each correct answer – whether in single-player or multiplayer mode.
Variable point values for AI dialogues
Each AI dialogue displays its point value. The evaluation rubrics provide information on how to achieve the maximum score. You accumulate points each time you complete the exercise. However, your progress only increases if you improve. You will, however, never lose progress by attempting the exercise again.
