What is Brian's teaching assistant?
The teaching assistant is Brian's integrated, data-secure chatbot for teachers. It can help with the creation of courses. It is often helpful to have the assistant open on the right of the screen so that you can work with it in parallel while developing course content on the left.
Where can I find the teaching assistant?
When creating a course on app.brian.study, you will find the icon at the top right of each course.

As soon as you click it, a chat window will open in the bottom right corner.
I don't see the teaching assistant icon
If you do not see the icon, this is because the functionality has not been activated at your institution.
How do I use Brian's teaching assistant for course and content creation?
The teaching assistant is a useful aid when designing a course. Here are a few examples:
- I have created a text for a new quiz via AI. I copy the text over to the teaching assistant and tell Brian's AI to create a version of the text that is suitable for non-native speakers. With this second text, I later create a parallel quiz in simplified language, using the quiz creation mode based on existing materials.
- I am working on a new exercise in the AI-Dialogue Pro Mode. I let the teaching assistant help me brainstorm. I write: "I'm working on an exercise on the topic of "democracy" in 10th grade politics class. The exercise should be a dialog with a chatbot. Give me some suggestions." Later, I have the teaching assistant write a draft of the instructions for the students for the new exercise.
- I want to check an AI-generated teaching text for accuracy. I copy it into the teaching assistant and instruct the AI to check the text for statements that are inaccurate or biased.
- I am working on a new course structure and have the AI suggest module headers, topics and suitable texts.
Can my students also use the teaching assistant?
Students do not have access to the teaching assistant. Instead, they have access to Brian's AI tutor. The AI Tutor acts pedagogically and lets students ask questions and deepen their knowledge independently. And, of course, it too is data-secure.
Students can find the AI tutor at the bottom of the learning interface:
