This option allows you to transform existing teaching materials into study quizzes on Brian. This means that you can upload a document and Brian's AI will turn it into a quiz with questions, answers, and explanations. This option is ideal if you already have suitable teaching materials.
What materials are well-suited for this mode?
Brian's AI analyzes the content and learning objectives of the provided text and creates a quiz based on this analysis.
The following text types are well-suited:
- instructional texts with conceptual or empirical knowledge
- Wikipedia texts and similar
- scientific articles
- lecture scripts (including transcripts of oral lectures)
- newspaper and magazine articles
- literary texts (for content-based and interpretative quiz questions)
- worksheets with exercises,
- presentation slides (provided they contain more than just headers and illustrative material)
- YouTube educational videos
How "clean" does my uploaded file need to be?
Brian's AI analyzes files for artifacts and other information that is not relevant for content creation. This means that it can deal with less than perfect files and achieve good results.
Can multiple files be uploaded to create a quiz?
Yes, you can submit multiple documents to the AI at the same time.
From an educational standpoint, however, it is usually advisable to create separate quizzes for individual documents and to choose a text length that results in approximately 15–30 questions. This is because learners have the option to combine quizzes independently within the learning environment and take multiple quizzes simultaneously. Creating smaller quizzes, each focusing on a single document, helps learners absorb new knowledge in small doses during their first run-through.
How do I work with videos?
Please find instructions here.
Can I give the AI specific requests or my learning goals?
Yes. To do this, you must activate Pro mode in the wizard after uploading the document. Details can be found here.
Can I change the quiz after the content has been created?
Of course. Every question, answer, and explanation can be improved or deleted. The "+Add question" option allows you to create additional questions both by AI and manually.

Tip: Brian's teaching assistant can be used to transform difficult texts into linguistically and/or conceptually simpler parallel texts. If this simplified text is used for quiz generation, an easier version of the quiz can be created. This way, heterogeneous learning groups can be offered the same learning content at different levels of difficulty.
